Liina Tael + Valerie Hartwich
Reserve your place →Yin’s magic is about nourishing deep reserves of energy so we can live sustainably and it calls us to pause, reflect, let go, allow, and simply be to honor and support it. In today's yang-dominating culture, where doing and achieving are celebrated, taking time to slow down is a radical decision!
We invite you to enjoy the slow and gentle side of life at Villa Pravernara, our peaceful retreat home nestled in the Valenza Valley. Together with our teachers Liina Tael and Valerie Hartwich we'll explore the soothing practices of Yin Yoga, somatic movement, and the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to restore balance within us.
This question lies at the heart of our retreat, and we believe that the answer can be truly transformative. Through the practices of Yin Yoga, somatic movement and more active yoga practices you’ll find more ease, and learn to reduce unnecessary effort in your movement, postural habits and mindset, both on and off the mat.
Yin Yoga is a gentle and introspective yoga practice that focuses on holding poses for extended periods, so we can build capacity in our nervous systems to be present with what’s arising, learning to really listen to and respect the body and the messages it carries.
The practices will include wisdom and inspiration from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which isdeeply rooted in ancient healing traditions, emphasizing the flow of vital energy, known as 'Qi,' through the body's meridians and acupressure points.
The term “somatics” refers to a wide range of bodywork and mindfulness practices (both yin and yang) that encourage awareness of bodily sensations, promoting greater connection with ourselves. Our daily morning and afternoon sessions will combine these different approaches and also include meditation, QiGong, Gentle Flow, Pranayama and Restorative poses.
Enjoy the crisp air and gentle golden light on afternoon walks, catch some late summer sun around the villa, indulge in nourishing, vegan-vegetarian meals with seasonal and local ingredients, carefully curated to suit your body's needs during this time of the year. Connect with fellow retreat-goers or enjoy me-time, winding down next to the chimney with a book.
We hope that this week will help you to make space to re-evaluate where you are, where you're heading and where you want to be. This can be a chance to dive deep into the inner world of being alive in all its rich subtlety, the here and now, and get in touch with what in you still needs to be understood and transformed.

Liina is originally from Estonia, but currently shares her time between Berlin and Italy. She is forever curious about bodies and movement, most at home when surrounded by nature and loves dogs.
She recently graduated from a permaculture course and is in the process of building a food forest and sustainable homestead on a land in Italy together with her fiance Eli and their dogs Hassan and Charlie.
Her approach to yoga is non-dogmatic, grounded in both extensive study of various movement and meditation modalities and in her own personal journey. Her classes aim to empower, encourage exploration and offer a safe space to connect more intimately with both - the visible and the invisible, the mundane and the mystical.
Her teaching is forever being a keen student of yoga philosophy, as well as Buddhism, Taoism and Chinese Medicine. And Nature - a magnificent teacher always!
Valerie Hartwich is French-German, who has lived in London and Brazil. Her curiosity for the human experience led her to work as a psychosomatic bodyworker, coach and yoga teacher with a psychology/sociology background, and special focus on fascia and trauma sensitive yoga.
She offers embodied, non-dogmatic practices rooted in ahimsa (compassionate presence) and agency to help all bodies and beings find more ease, grace and agency, and connect to life's magic.
Expect a tender, mindful, curious and playful approach to movement allowing each and every person to relate to their body and its sensations as partners, and to become inventive and resourceful when dealing with challenges arise.
